System Center Configuration Manager (Current Branch): Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Welcome everyone, and thank you for visiting my blog.  In the following series, I am going to cover the installation and configuration of System Center Configuration Manager (Current Branch) along with some of the most common roles used within SCCM.  Just to give a little background as to why I decided to create this guide, I have had the opportunity and pleasure to work with System Center Configuration Manager in my current role for my employer.  Day-to-day activities include but are not limited to Application Deployment, Software Update Deployments aka “Patch Management”, and Operating Systems Deployments, amongst many other things.  I was really intrigued by how powerful a utility SCCM is and the many things one can do with it given the opportunity.  The reason I am now creating this guide is that, even though there are many other sites/guides on the internet related to this same thing, many are outdated, not well-written, or lack the amount of detail I am accustomed to when creating a tutorial.  I figured that I would gather all my notes, and put together as best a guide as I can for my own knowledge and future reference, but as well as to assist anyone else whom may be interested in deploying and configuring their own SCCM environment for lab/practice and/or Production use.

This page will serve as the main page, or “Table of Contents” if you will, of the guide where I will include hyperlinks to each individually published section.  Are you ready and pumped??  I know I am!  Grab some coffee, take a seat, strap in, and let’s get to it!

At the time of this writing, the latest version of System Center Configuration Manager (Current Branch) is version 1706.
